Wow! Has it really been five years and four months with some change since my last blog post and first ever? Man, life really gets in the way sometimes. After having a fantastic evening with a new friend tonight who blogs I have decided to give this blog thing a more serious approach.
Here we go. I will start this thing off where I left it in October of '09 with the "studio". Many changes in my personal and professional life took place since the original post. I found myself calling the studio space home in August of 2010 and continued to hack away at the renovations while working a miserable 6am-8:20pm (yes …13 hour 20 minute work shift three days a week) job.
I had finally got to the breaking point with this situation in November of '12 and began working with my life long friend doing historic renovations here in Toccoa. We started a "proper" artist live/work space at the studio location soon after. The images represent the current state of the "studio" from '09.
The lay out and quality are second to none in my opinion for this type of project that was done in a not so progressive demographic. We later moved on to the first floor of the building and built it out in a very similar fashion. If you like the end result of my space please contact Chris Irvin and Deer Court Enterprises here in Toccoa for any of your construction needs. He's a top notch contractor and one hell of a nice guy.
Well, with all that being said I have done my official second post of my photography blog I guess. Go and check out the website and always keep Jake Carlan Photography in consideration for your photographic needs.
